- How often should my child receive training to improve their speed, strength, and athleticism?
We typically recommend that an athlete is training 3-4 times per week, depending on which part of their season he/she is in. We recommend at least 2 times per week and ideally 3-4 times per week. These sessions can be performed in a private training session or can be split with several other athletes. The best advice would be to contact us at info@tesserafit.com and we can set up a complimentary consultation to go through the specifics. - What makes the Tessera Performance training program unique?
It all starts with our desire to make our athlete’s dreams a reality. Whether they want to improve their strength, speed, agility and power or they want to start for their team, we take pride in helping make them be successful. The following things make us unique:
- Our coaching staff: we have assembled some of the best strength and conditioning coaches in the business in terms of experience, education and practical know-how. All of our strength coaches are former athletes and they understand what it takes to be successful as well as the demands of being an athlete. Our staff has experience training junior, collegiate and professional athletes.
- Our programs: all our programs start with a unique combination of assessment tools and exercise prescription to help our clients and athletes reach their health and performance goals. We have numerous athletic development programs for all sports and ages and experience levels. Each training program is individualized to address the client’s specific goals and objectives using time-tested conditioning systems that work.
- Our environment: we train all clients in an extremely positive, engaging, and fun environment. Being part of Team Tessera is a very supportive endeavor and we promise to make your experience nothing short of amazing.
- Will I receive an at-home workout program?
You may receive a program we want you to complete outside of the gym depending on the number of days you train with us. You will get this about 2-4 weeks into the program once you are comfortable with the exercises, drills and techniques. Our athletes’ success is largely dependent on the work they do inside and outside of the gym. - What are your training rates?
Our rates depend on the number of athletes you are training with based on a one-hour session, whether it be one-on-one, partner or small group. Some group rates can start at $20/session with some of our more advanced programs including video analysis at $125/session. We are sure to have something that is right for you and fits your budget. Contact us at info@tesserafit.com for more information. - If I cannot make a session, am I charged for that session?
If you are unable to attend a training session, you will need to call 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for that session. - What do I need to bring to my sessions?
We recommend that you bring the following:- Workout clothing and shoes
- Any paperwork we gave you
- A post-workout snack with a combination of protein, carbohydrates and fat
- How young do you begin strength training athletes?
We have athletes starting with resistance training programs beginning at age 8. We generally begin teaching bodyweight exercises such as push-ups, pull-ups, lunges and squats. As technique and strength improve we progress according to each athlete’s developmental level. - I am already involved with a training program at my school. Can your program still benefit me?
Our programs are a great compliment to many athlete’s strength and conditioning programs. We will design your program based on what additional skills we identify will help you. You may need to work on balance, neuromuscular integrity, hand-eye coordination, speed, jump mechanics, etc. - What makes your coaches unique?
Most importantly, our strength coaches are passionate about what they do. We are highly energetic and this transfers to you and your training session. We desire for you to be successful and to reach your goals. We will do everything we can to help you do this. Our strength coaches always stay up to date on the best training techniques by attending fitness and educational conferences across the country. We are committed to having the best and most knowledgeable staff so we can serve you most effectively. All our strength coaches have college degrees and are certified trainers and certified strength and conditioning coaches. They have advanced education in biomechanics, kinesiology and program design.
Each of our strength coaches has their own unique niche, and we are able to match you up with the right person whether you are training for sports performance, trying to reduce chronic pain or stress, reach a desired goal and/or just stay motivated. - Do I have to train alone, or am I able to train with others/bring a group of friends?
We offer private training sessions, as well as partner and small group sessions. Our trainers are able to train up to a group of 3-6. Partner and group training is a great way to stay motivated and build camaraderie and a great idea if you’re on a limited budget. Bring a friend in with you to try it. All they have to do is sign a waiver and they are good to go. - I want to lose weight. What would be the best program for me?
